Using Artificial Intelligence as a Teaching Tool: Best practices and strategies Patrick Campbell

| While much attention is focused on ChatGPT as a threat to academic integrity, this workshop will instead consider ChatGPT/AI's tremendous promise as a teaching tool. We will introduce participants to a broad range of teaching practices that incorporate ChatGPT. These will cover a wide range of subject areas (art and music to the sciences). My goal is that every participant will leave with one new AI-infused assignment to test in their classes. |

| We will show faculty how to fill out an accurate CARE report for the CARE team and talk about how the CARE team works to support students, who is on the CARE team and discuss ways the Dean of Students office supports students with out of classroom life challenges. |

This workshop will discuss the challenges and benefits of designing and team teaching an interdisciplinary course with two professors. Topics of discussion will include building a syllabus, choosing readings, creating writing assignments, grading, and instructional methods in the classroom. |
