Disability: Rights, Advocacy, and Access

Disability Rights, Advocacy, and Access: Introduction

This guide offers a selection of library and online resources on the topic of disability. Use the navigation menu on the left to explore selected print and electronic books, as well as academic journals focusing on current issues central to disability culture. The web resources page is rich with federal and state government resources, disability culture podcasts, and five years' worth of short films, as part of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge, a filmmaking contest that gives filmmakers—with and without disabilities—the opportunity to work with a team to creatively write, produce and complete a short film over one weekend that showcases disability in its many forms.

This guide accompanies a current library exhibit commemorating the passage of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
