McKillop Library supports and promotes the scholarship and research of faculty through its faculty lecture series and through this virtual and ongoing display of recent faculty publications. The display of faculty publications is updated biannually.

Elizabeth Bloom, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor | Nursing

Dr. Bloom was appointed to the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing in 2015. Prior to that, she was first an instructor, then Level Chairperson, Acting Director and finally Director of St. Joseph School of Nursing in North Providence, Rhode Island. Her main area of study is medical-surgical nursing, with a focus on cardiac nursing, and her research area of interest is Horizontal Violence in Nursing. Dr. Bloom is a life-long resident of Rhode Island, and received her B.S.N., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Rhode Island.

Assistant Professor | Nursing

Dr. Sharon Keating graduated from Boston College in 1993. She received her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in 1997 and has been a certified Family Nurse Practitioner since then. She received her doctorate in Philosophy of Nursing in 2017 from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Dr. Keating joined the Salve Regina Nursing department in 2020 and teaches in the undergraduate and graduate Nursing programs. She continues to practice as a nurse practitioner with a concentration in pediatric and young adult care. She is a board member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and a member of the Eastern Nursing Research Society and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Sharon L. Stager, D.N.P.

Dr. Sharon Stager is the Program Director of the Graduate Nursing Program, and practicing Family Nurse Practitioner at Wellcare, Inc. providing primary care and women’s health. Dr. Stager has been a nurse for 29 years, and began her career as a nurse at Duke University in medical oncology. She received her Master's in Nursing from Duke University in 1996 and began practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner immediately. Her Doctor of Nursing Practice was achieved in 2013 from University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Dr. Stager provides lifestyle coaching and encourages prevention management utilizing motivational interviewing and neutraceutical management as an entrepreneur with her business, In Search for Health, providing outreach to many beyond her management of care.  

Louise Sullivan, Ph.D., R.N.

Louise Sullivan, Ph.D., R.N.

Associate Professor | Nursing

Dr. Sullivan has been a full-time faculty member in the Nursing department since 2015. She began her career in health-care as a staff nurse, and achieved her PhD in Nursing from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2015. Dr. Sullivan’s research interests include the Long-Term Care (LTC) population, exploring Human Animal Interactions, and promoting student engagement with an interest in advancing knowledge in these areas. Her scholarly endeavors have drawn from her experience in healthcare, collaborative research efforts, and commitment to student engagement. In 2019 she began working with the Nursing Student Research group on research projects involving pet therapy and college student stress with former Salve faculty member Dr. Ellen McCarty.
