Printing Overview

 

The library computers are set with a default printer which is named "Ricoh Black & White" on PCs and "Library BW Ricoh" on Macs.

The default print settings are single-sided black & white.

Printing from PCs

To choose print options such as color printing, double-sided, page orientation, etc. choose "Properties" or "Preferences" from the print window.

Then in the printer preferences window, choose your option(s) and then click “OK.”

When finished choosing your options, click “Print.”

You can then release your print jobs by swiping your Salve ID from any printer in the library. You may send as many print jobs to the printers as you need, and then print all jobs when you are ready. Print jobs will be held in the system for 4 (four) hours. See below for detailed instructions.

How do I retrieve my prints from a library printer?

1. Swipe your Salve ID. (A valid Salve ID is needed to print, copy, or scan).

2. The on-screen display will show your printing balance. Press "OK" on the display screen.

3. Your print jobs will be listed on the display screen. With your finger, highlight the job(s) you wish to print. Or touch "Print All" to print all listed jobs. (Options such as color-printing, double-sided printing, or other preferences must be under the print properties menu at the computer before sending the document to print.)

4. Press "Print" or “Print All” on the display to print the selected jobs. (You may also press "delete" to delete a print job; your account will not be charged until you touch "print").

5. WHEN FINISHED, PRESS THE "LOGOUT" BUTTON ON THE DISPLAY. Your account will also automatically log-off after 15 seconds of inactivity.

Printing from Macs

For color printing: Choose the printer named "Library Color RICOH…” from the printer drop-down menu.

For double-sided, click on “Copies & Pages” and select "Layout," then change two-sided from "Off" to "Long-edge binding” (for portrait) or “Short-edge binding” (for landscape):

When finished choosing your options, click “Print.”
