Graduate Students' Guide to McKillop Library: Library Services

Information for graduate students regarding research, dissertations, and library services.

Scan and Deliver Service

If you need one chapter from a book or a journal article that McKillop Library only has in print, we can scan and send you a link to the material. Use the library catalog to locate materials that are on our shelves. After locating a chapter or article you would like, simply use the interlibrary loan request form for the correct format type. Be sure to indicate that you are an Online Graduate Studies student. We cannot scan whole or large portions of items due to copyright; however a whole journal article is acceptable. In most cases, the article/chapter will be sent as an email attachment to your Salve e-mail.

Interlibrary Loan

To request articles: Often you will locate an article in a database or a bibliography that is not available in full-text. In such a situation you can request the article using the interlibrary loan form for articles. In most cases, the article will be sent as an email attachment to your Salve e-mail.

To request books: ILL books MUST be picked-up in person and dropped off at the Salve Library. ILL books cannot be sent to other libraries for pick-up, nor can they be mailed to your address. Only use ILL for books that are not available through HELIN libraries. You can request books that are not available through HELIN if you can come to pick them up at McKillop Library. Use the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) tab on the home page or the interlibrary loan request form for books.
