Graduate Students' Guide to McKillop Library: Find Dissertations

Information for graduate students regarding research, dissertations, and library services.

Searching for Dissertations

To find dissertations written by Salve Regina graduates, do a keyword search in the library catalog for Salve Regina University thesis. Copies of dissertations located in the Salve Main Collection can be found by their call number on the third floor of the library.

Some Salve dissertations are also available in full-text online in our digital repository Digital Commons Additional copies of Salve dissertations are also kept in the Salve Regina University Archives and Special Collections, which requires an appointment for access.

There are several sources for finding dissertations from other institutions. Google Scholar occasionally provides full-text access to dissertations. If not, you may request a dissertation by placing an interlibrary loan request. There is often a cost associated with these requests, and the library allocates a limited budget per student each semester for this purpose.

These search tools are also catalogs of dissertations by topic, author, or title:

Dissertations and Theses A & I from Proquest (The majority of dissertations located through this research database will need to be requested by interlibrary loan, but please check availability in the library catalog and Google Scholar first.)
